CSA is short for Community Supported Agriculture. CSAs are becoming a new way to distribute foods directly from the farms that raise them to the consumers in the community. CSA groups are formed by people in conjunction with a farm or series of farms that deliver freshly grown products, generally vegetables and fruits, on a weekly or monthly basis to a certain location. The members of the CSA come to the location and pick up their "share" or their specific order from the contracted farms.
A CSA is like a Co-op without the storefront. These groups meet in church vestibules, parks, community centers, community gardens and members' homes; wherever it convenient and roomy enough to accommodate the number of members, the produce and other foods to be distributed. |

We have developed a CSA service over the years delivering to a number of CSA groups in and around New York City. Individual members of the various CSA groups we serve can order a variety of products from Lewis Waite Farm and our partnering farms through our website www.csalewiswaitefarm.com. The orders are packed for the individual in the specific CSA's insulated box, insuring that the products get to them still frozen and fresh.
